Pre-Puppy Prep, Puppy Training Classes
& One to One Sessions

You've found YOUR puppy - hoorah! You've seen them with the mum and fallen in love. What a feeling!

That bubbling excitement, anticipation of your perfect life together... then they arrive, eek! There's pee & poo everywhere, they're nipping with their land shark teeth and sleep is a distant memory... 

How about we prevent or minimise this pain as much as possible by being prepared? We can meet BEFORE your puppy arrives. You can ask all your questions, get confident and I will advise on how best to tackle those first few days/weeks, to build great habits and prevent mistakes.

  • What does your set up at home look like? How can we make it work better?

  • What time of day will you pick your pup up? How will they travel home?

  • What's your plan for the first few days?

  • To crate or not to crate?

  • Where will you sleep? Where will they sleep?

  • How do you toilet train successfully? Puppy pads or not?

  • How to stop puppy biting before it begins.

  • How much should they be sleeping?

  • What enrichment do you have? What is enrichment?!

This can be done face to face locally or globally via zoom.

Prices

  • £50 (up to 60 mins)

  • £60 (up to 75 mins, weekdays)

  • £60 (up to 60 mins, weekend rate)

NB: Prices based on locations within 4 miles of the Trainer’s home. 

Locations beyond this are possible but will incur an additional ‘time & travel’ charge.

Joyful Dogs can show you how to use kind but effective puppy training techniques (positive reinforcement).  The result?  A well behaved puppy you'll enjoy spending time with.

Your puppy is learning every single moment of the day - yikes! So, it's important to get things off to a good start.

Pre-Puppy Prep Sessions

Puppy Life Skills: Starters - 6 week group class

(Max 6 puppies in each class)

  • Socialisation the right way – hint: not loads of free running dogs!

  • Recall - Games which turn the fun switch on your dog so he is hot on your toes!

  • Connection - do you exist in your dog's world?

  • Loose lead walking – no pulling!

  • The Vet Visit & grooming game - how to empower your dog to communicate with you.

  • ‘Settle on a mat’ - everyone wants to chill out in the pub with their dog, right?

  • ‘Drop’ an object when asked - no more reaching in the dog's mouth to retrieve your slipper.

  • The 3 second Game – what is your dog telling you about touch?

  • Being social / greeting people without jumping - there is always someone wearing white trousers (face palm)!

  • 10% discount at our favourite pet shop (local, small business!) for the duration of your six week course!

  • We also run a private Facebook group alongside the classes with class guides/videos, discussion points and a whole load of support for you! Details given once you book on.

Fridays and Sunday classes are at St Margaret’s Hall, Coniston Road, Hatherley, Cheltenham GL51 3NU

Saturday classes are at Kings Hall, Church Piece, Charlton Kings, GL53 8JN.

Puppy Packages

Gold Starter Package

This package gives you our six week in-person practical course as well as TWO home visits to kick start your training journey AND access to our private Facebook page for support, encouragement and a wealth of information.

 

£220* for home visits during the week

£240* for home visits at the weekend

 

Silver Starter Package

This package gives you our six week in-person practical course as well as ONE home visit to kick start your training journey AND access to our private Facebook page for support, encouragement and a wealth of information.

£170* for home visits during the week

£180* for home visits at the weekend

 

Bronze Starter Package

This package gives you our six week in-person practical course AND access to our private Facebook page for support, encouragement and a wealth of information.

£120 only. That’s just £20 per class!

*Home visit price for under 4 miles from GL52 8NB.  Locations beyond this are possible but will incur an additional ‘time & travel’ charge.
